How to create a textured background using wrapping tissue and glimmer glam. A tutorial!:)

One month old

Today, I'm sharing how to create your own textured background using wrapping tissue and Glimmer Glam in a short tutorial! :) My model for today is my friend Maggi's daughter Zippy! :)

Step 1: Compose your layout and elements. I "guesstimated" the rough area I needed to work on...no sense working on areas that would be covered up by papers or embellies.

Step 2:  Apply liquid adhesive to the cardstock.

Step 3 : Add some wrapping tissue, scrunching the tissue as you adhere to the cardstock.

Step 4: You should get something like this. The glue dries clear. You can speed up the process with a heat gun.

Step 5:  Paint a layer of gesso.

Step 6: Apply distress inks in blues and greens (to match the patterned paper).

Step 7: Paint on the Glimmer Glam (Midnight). Love the big sparkly glitter bits.

Supplies: (from Your Scrapbook Stash) Webster's Pages papers and trims, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Midnight, Others: American Crafts stickers, SRM sticker, metal butterfly embellishments.

What do you think?

P/s: Come play along with my guest Lynnda's minimal challenge! :) And have you entered a comment in yesterday's giveaway post? Come back tomorrow for another chance at a giveaway! Winners will be announced on Friday's post! :)
